European Construction Forum on "Construction 4.0"
The European Construction Forum meets today in a limited configuration to start the work on the Joint Manifesto on “Construction 4.0”.
The European Union of Developers and House Builders (UEPC) will attend the small meeting to represent the interest of developers and house builders.
The goal of the meeting is to build up on the previous Forum (16 January 2018) to find common ground between relevant stakeholders of the construction sector. In attendance were Construction Products Europe, European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE) and European Builders Confederation (EBC).
The meeting was fruitful and participants agreed to start working on a political manifesto, which would show the commitment of the construction sector to work together, with the same goals. Participants talked about digitalisation as an enable and an upcoming important tool for the industry moving forward.
Discussions turned around the questions of skills, jobs, smart buildings, etc. Participants agreed to work on the manifesto in the coming weeks and to reconvene at a later date to discuss progress.
