European Construction Forum on "Construction 4.0"
The European Construction Forum meets today in a limited configuration to start the work on the Joint Manifesto on “Construction 4.0”.
The European Union of Developers and House Builders (UEPC) will attend the small meeting to represent the interest of developers and house builders.
The goal of the meeting is to build up on the previous Forum (1 February 2018) to find common ground between relevant stakeholders of the construction sector. In attendance were Construction Products Europe, European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE) and European Builders Confederation (EBC).
The meeting was fruitful and participants finalised the manifesto in order to present it later in the week to all the participants of the European Construction Forum. Digitalisation of the construction sector must be one of the main priorities of the EU political agenda. The manifesto identifies three ways forward: the EU must take the political lead on digital construction; there is a need for an appropriate regulatory framework on data policy; and the new EU budget must focus on digital skills.
