29-30 May 2014 - UEPC holds General Assembly, Board of Directors and Joint Committee meetings in Madrid
On 29 and 30 May UEPC members went to Madrid for the Joint Committee, Board of Directors and General Assembly meetings.
During the Joint Committee, after an exposé on EU State Aid rules by Pierre de Bandt, sollicitor at the Brussels bar, Marc Pigeon (FPI-France), John Slaughter (HBF-UK), Inger Vold Zapffe (Housing Bank - Norway) and José Luis Roca Castillo (APCE-Spain) gave a presentation of their national housing financing schemes.
A guided tour was foreseen through the residential development area of Valdebebas.
In the afternoon session, Newgate gave a comprehensive overview on recent EU elections as well as the ongoing and forthcoming initiatives which are relevant for UEPC Members. A presentation on EU economic governance and macro imbalance procedures followed by Jan Fokkema (Neprom-the Netherlands)’s insight into the Dutch regime of fiscal incentives on residential mortgages concluded the first day of meeting.
During the Board of Directors, the strategy for engagement at EU level for the next years has been adopted.
Finally, Andreas Beulich from BFW (Germany) gave a presentation about their association and expressed his wish to join UEPC as an observer member. UEPC members welcomed BFW’s membership wholeheartedly.
