UEPC attends meeting on public consultation on the Europe 2020 strategy
The European Commission is undertaking a mid-term review of the Europe 2020 strategy. As Commissioner President Juncker has pointed out in July, the industry's share in EU's GDP should be 20% by 2020 whereas it is now only 15,6%.
The purpose of the public consultation was to learn lessons from the implementation of the past 5 years, which would then be used as an input for the new Commission's actions on the EU 2020 Strategy for the next 5 years.
The public consultation will close on 31st October, after which a report will be published. The mid-term review will then be subject to discussion in Spring 2015 at the Economic Summit of the European Council.
